A Proclamation Thanking Kansas Republican Party Chairman, Kris Kobach, for his Service to the Kansas Republican Party, 2007-2009

WHEREAS, Kris W. Kobach was elected Chairman of the Kansas Republican Party on January 27, 2007 by the Kansas Republican Party State Committee.
WHEREAS, Kris W. Kobach demonstrated his leadership through expressed advocacy, hard work and commitment to electing Republicans in the 2008 General Election.
WHEREAS, Kris W. Kobach changed the chief priorities of the Kansas Republican Party headquarters to focus on Republican Elected Officials and the November 4th General Election.
WHEREAS, because of the hard work of Kris W. Kobach as Chairman Republicans statewide enjoyed success in the November 4th General Election including: Re-electing U.S. Senator Pat Roberts by 24 percentage points; re-electing Congressman Jerry Moran by 69 percentage points; re-electing Congressman Todd Tiahrt by 31 percentage points; helping Lynn Jenkins defeat an incumbent Democrat member of Congress by 4 percentage points (one of only 5 states nationwide to defeat an incumbent Democrat); Net gain in the Kansas Senate of one Republican Seat; Net loss in the Kansas House of Representatives of 1 despite being outspent 3-1 by Democrats.
WHEREAS, Kris W. Kobach has continued to unify and focus the Kansas Republican Party towards electing Republicans and defeating Democrats.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Kansas Republican Party State Committee expresses its gratitude to Kris W. Kobach for his significant contributions to the Kansas Republican Party has Chairman for the last 2 years and wishes him well in his future endeavors.
